Workshop Guides

On May 1, 2022, Close To My Heart provided access to a workshop guide archive. The archive includes guides for workshops offered since January 2020. Guides for workshops found in the catalogs and monthly specials are included. You will find the "Workshop Guides" at my eCommerce website under "More". The list is sorted alphabetically by default, but by clicking the headings, you can sort by date released or by product number.

I am going to keep this page listing catalog workshops and continue to update it as new catalogs are introduced. I already have compiled the list, the list goes back two or so more years than the official CTMH archive, you may have bookmarked this page, and, as of May 31, 2022 I was still able to download an guide that is older than the official archive. If the older guides become unavailable, I may revamp this page when that time comes. If you find a link that does not work, please reach out using the contact form to the right. Thank you.

Beginning in Seasonal Expressions 1 (2018), printed guides for the Workshop Kits/Workshops Your Way™ Kits offered in Idea Books by Close To My Heart are included in the kit, but there may be times you would like to review the instructions before placing your order or before the kit arrives. You will find the guides for the Workshops Kits on my Consultant Website. The Guides are in PDF format that you can download to your computer, tablet or phone.

The instructions for Workshop Kits typically can only be downloaded while the Idea Book they are pictured in is valid. Often the link to instructions for kits that appear in an Idea Book will be removed from my eCommerce Website at 11:59pm Mountain (where CTMH Corporate headquarters is located) when an Idea Book is no longer valid, but if you have the URL the instructions are still accessible.

If you need assistance finding or downloading the guide to your computer, I hope the images and information below helps.


On the product description page there are two links for downloading the Guide for that WYW; the links go to the same PDF. The first is right under the button to add the item to your cart and the second is at the bottom of the written description. If you [left] click on the link, it will open the PDF in a new browser tab (this is the default in most browsers, but if you have changed the settings in your browser you may get a new window or a prompt asking what action you would like to take). When the document is open, you can either print or save from there.


The above screenshot was taken from Firefox, but is very similar in Chrome. There is a difference when you click the download button: in Firefox on Windows, the download is saved to your default Download folder and there is no option to change folders before the download begins while in Chrome a "Save As" dialog appears and you can choose where to save the file (see below for an example of the "Save As" dialog. If you are using Microsoft Edge, I found you have to click somewhere on the screen before you will see the icons in the upper right for printing or saving. The icons are similar to above. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, I found you have to move your mouse to the bottom of the screen to get the save and print options to appear.


Whether you are using Microsoft's Edge or Internet Explorer, the save button works the same. When you click it a "Save As" dialog appears and you can choose where to save the file (see below for an example of the "Save As" dialog. Alternatively you can right-click on the link to save the PDF to your computer. In case right-clicking to save a file to your computer is a new-to-you concept, here are a few screenshots from a Windows 10 computer that I hope you will find useful:

If you use the Chrome browser, this is what your screen will look like:


Select "Save link as..." and then the familiar "Save As" dialog box will appear on your screen (see below if you are not sure what I mean by "Save As" dialog box).

If you use the Firefox browser, this is what your screen will look like:


Again, select "Save line as..." and then the familiar "Save As" dialog box will appear on your screen.


If you use the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser, this is what your screen will look like:


Select "Save target as..." and then the familiar "Save As" dialog box will appear on your screen.


If you use the Microsoft Edge browser, this is what your screen will look like:


Again, select "Save target as..." and then the familiar "Save As" dialog box will appear on your screen.


After you have selected the option to save the PDF, you will see a "Save As" dialog box similar to this (no matter which browser you are using they are similar enough on a Windows computer that I only took one screenshot):


The file name will likely be auto-filled for you, but you can change it to a friendlier name so it is easier to search for in the future. You will most likely want to put the file in your Documents folder. I have a CTMH folder inside the Documents folder and a Workshops Your Way sub-folder. Use the location that works best for you. I do not have access to a computer with the Mac OS to test and take screenshots, but from when I used an Apple computer last the concept of right-clicking and saving was not too different. I hope this helps you to find and save the instructions for the WYW kits you purchase.

Starting in January/February 2020 the Scrapbooking Workshops could be purchased with or without Memory Protectors™. The Workshop contents are the same, except for the Memory Protectors™, and the instructions are the same (though a set of instructions are published under each product number).

When you are looking at the Deluxe Scrapbooking Kits below, it does not matter which Workshop Guide you download, the instructions are the same and create the same layouts. There are two different product numbers for the Deluxe Workshops because for each WYW you may purchase the Workshop with some tools (stamp set(s) and/or Thin Cuts) or without the tools.

Update to the Feels Like Home Deluxe Scrapbooking Workshop guide:

In the preparation steps on page 10, one pink line was omitted from the diagram showing how to prepare to emboss the diagonal grid. There should be five pink lines and four green lines, but only four pink lines were included in the printed instructions. The omitted line is 1 7/8" to the left of the farthest left pink line. This correction has been made to the PDF instructions available on my Consultant Website (link above), but be aware that the printed instructions that comes with the workshop kits will not show the fifth line. 03/07/2019
